GitHub has just announced the GitHub MCP Registry, a new home base for discovering and building with MCP servers.
Truth is that since MCP came in the limelight, there's been tons of MCP servers for any task imaginable coming out daily.
That means that many good servers go undiscovered, others are simply not discoverable and others are just not worth it.
Github understood those developer pain points and has thus founded the official MCP registry for hosting a curated collection of MCP servers, making it easy to discover and plug into them. Some of the first curated partners appearing on the registry include Figma, Postman, HashiCorp, and Dynatrace.
