OS-Climate - Open Source To Tackle Climate Change

OS-Climate is a Linux Foundation-backed project is working to develop open source data and tools to help to meet the Paris climate goals of limiting warming to well below 2 °C, with an aspiration of 1.5 °C.

To that end, 1.5 °C might not sound a lot, but in essence it would make a big difference. Open sourcing tools and making them available to scientists at large as a contribution to putting as many brains possible behind it, is one way of going about it.

As a step in the right direction, the Linux Foundation in collaboration with BNP Paribas, Allianz, Airbus, Amazon, Red Hat and Ortec Finance has released three tools, not just for scientists but also for financial institutions, corporations, NGOs, regulators and academics, in order to help them reach climate-aligned financial decisions.
